Mom's Night Out!
Saturday was an offical Mom's Night Out. I belong to a group called "The Tot Lot". It is a handful of women that are firends and share the day to day things that go along with being a mom. We occasionally have playdates with our children and sometimes without them:)
We have all been friends for about 3 years and I must say that it has been fun! We have had our ups and downs...but hopefully the group we have will remain intact.
So, Saturday we all went to Granville in Burbank... It was delightful! The food was great and the company was even better. We chatted and ate and fun was had by all.

Remembering Inez
Today is the 1st anniversary of my Grandmother Inez's passing. It seems like an incredibly long year- because I have been without her. I don't know how to express how much I love my Grandmother. She was my very best friend and I miss her everyday. Since she has been gone I have had another child and she was named for her. Grandmother would have fallen in love with Sofia Inez as much as she fell for Olivia.
I miss our conversations about cooking and all the money I would save on food that I bought on sale. (She was funny that way- "thrifty".) I miss watching our TV shows together and talking two or three times a day on the telephone. I miss giving her a kiss goodbye.
I miss you Grandmother. You made me who I am today.

Olivia gets her ears "fixed"
Olivia has been having some difficulty with her ears for the past year or so. She has had many ear infections, so we were referred to a specialist. The doctor said that Olivia needed some tubes in her ears and had to have her adenoids removed. Olivia was a trooper and she did FANTASTIC!
Daddy explained the entire procedure to Olivia so she would be "prepared" for the day. It went well. Olivia was a bit grumpy after the procedure, but after a few hours and some ice pops...she was good as new.

Weekend Wedding in Santa Barbara -Part I
This weekend we went to Santa Barbara to see Damon's youngest sister Mia get married. Olivia was a flower girl and boy did she love it! It was a beautiful weekend that started out with a cocktail cruise on the open water. Damon and I enjoyed talking to people that we don't get to see as often as we would like.
On Saturday we attended the wedding. Mia and Danny were married in an amazing church- Mount Carmel. It was a bit steamy out- but the scenery made up for it. The reception was in a hotel across the street from the ocean and it was beautifully landscaped.
We danced ( I danced....Damon watched me) and ate into the evening. It was a lovely time. Congratulations Mia and Danny! We wish you love and happiness for a long future together.

Sofia Inez's Christening Day

On Sunday, June 1st, Damon and I had Sofia Inez Christened. The ceremony took place at St. Francis De Sales Church in Sherman Oaks(the same church Olivia was Baptized).
Our friends and family joined us at the church for the service. Afterward, we all went to Oliva Trattoria for an afternoon feast! We celebrated with a toast by Daddy. It was a wonderful meal full of great food and conversation with the people who mean the most to our family.
We would like thank Beth and Victor Cordero, Sofia's Godparents, for always being there for our family. You both enrich our lives more than I can express in words. Thank You.
